Our Story
In May 2024 an devastating knife crime incident took place in Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port. The incident sadly resulted in a young man losing his life which left a family devastated and the community shook.

Realising and experiencing the impacts of knife crime first hand our founder created Blades Down as a way to educate the young people of Ellesmere Port with the hope of preventing more people of this town losing their lives.Â

Blades Down – Youths Against Knife Crime was started to to combat the devastating impact of knife crime in our community.Â
Our mission is to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of knife crime, promote educational initiatives that teach conflict resolution and the value of life, and collaborate with local authorities and other community groups to implement effective prevention strategies. By working together, we can create a culture of peace and respect, ensuring a brighter and safer future for all.

Danni - Founder & Content Creator
After witnessing a knife crime incident, Danni wanted to create something positive out of the senseless act of violence she witnessed.

Danni has recently completed a CPD course on Knife Crime Awareness, equipping herself with the knowledge to deliver knife crime awareness sessions and spreading awaresness through education.Â

In her day job, Danni works at a local high school and as a youth support worker at Ellesmere Port’s Youth Club.Â
