We think this project will really help young people in this area, and we want to be part of the good things that will come from this community project.

Blades down has truly changed my life. It’s helped me both physically and mentally. I have met so many new friends and many people I can trust. Blades down encouraged me to join boxing which is now my favourite sport and I don’t know what i would be doing without it. I have learned to manage my anger is healthy ways, how protect myself against knife crime, and most importantly I have learned the impact of knife crime and what it can do to others along with lots of other stuff. It has truly been an amazing experience.

I found the whole process of signing my daughter up really quick and simple. The form was easy to complete and I was contacted the very next day with a date and time to bring her. Beforehand I was worried that I wouldn't feel good leaving her as shes only 10 but the moment we walked in we were looked after and made to feel welcome. I had no worries at all leaving her and when I collected her I was informed how she had done and she absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back!

Mia absolutely loves coming every week even tho the first week she was scared thinking people would all fight with her. She now bounces home from school on a Thursday to get to boxing. She loves trying different things out and it's helping her adhd brain settle more at night. The staff are all welcoming and very friendly but continue to push the children.

I chose for my son to attend the Blades Down programme as he was becoming unruly and getting into endless trouble in and out of school. Since joining my son has become a different child, he is
more pleasant, understand boundaries and shows more respect in and out of the house. He lacks confidence in himself but the past few months he has made more friends and is attending more social events. There is still a long way to go with him but finally I think I have found somewhere that he enjoys going to and looks forward to each Thursday session so he can let off some steam.

I signed my daughter up to the fearless females and knockout violence project after having a few troubles in school and I wanted her to build up her self confidence. She has been doing the classes for 5 weeks now and always comes out happy and chatting away about the subjects they covered in
the fearless females group and all the activities they have done in the knockout violence project. She also has said how comfortable she feels at the groups and that she knows that she can talk to any of the adults there if/when she wants to. I can already see positive
changes in her so can’t wait to see the things to come for her with the rest of her time in the groups!

Amazing to see the kids learning about their local area and the effects/ consequences of the behaviour that they are having in the community. We going to complete more lessons around your workshop and hopefully have you back.
